Welcome to the Masonic Library & Museum
Washington State’s history is deeply connected with Freemasonry, a fact explored in depth at the Masonic Library & Museum. This institution sheds light on how Masons, including the state’s first governor and numerous influential figures like legislators and judges, have shaped its governance and community. Even today, Masonic members play a significant role in various local and state sectors. The museum showcases the enduring impact of Masonic values from the state’s early days to the present.
The Masonic Library & Museum is a service available to the individuals, Lodges, and the community at large. Those seeking to expand their knowledge of Freemasonry will find this to be an invaluable resource, with many items available online. The professional expertise of the WAMS curator is an opportunity for Lodges to learn best practices to safeguard the important Masonic artifacts that they hold.
Books and items from the Education Collection are available for checkout by members of the Masonic community. The Masonic Library & Museum is open to the public. For more information or to make an appointment, please contact Washington Masonic Services at (253) 442-2505 or email chelsea@masonscare.org

Donations of Books and Objects to the Museum
Thank you for your interest in expanding the Washington Library & Museum collections! Items we accept without prior contact are:
*Aprons intended for the Washington Masonic Grand Lodge Apron Memorial crypt located in Grand Mound, Washington.
*Books intended for our Library.
Due to laws governing museum donations, we kindly ask that all potential donors of artifacts to the Museum contact the Washington Masonic Library & Museum prior to dropping off items. Call ahead at (253) 442-2505, or send an email to chelsea@masonscare.org. All donors of artifacts to the Museum will need to sign a Deed of Gift form upon donation. Please do not give objects to the Grand Lodge of Washington to pass on to the Library & Museum.
The Collections Committee advises the Curator on determining the status of items in the Library & Museum’s custody. Due to limited space, we can only access items into our Permanent Collection and Library Special Collection that are unique to the history of the Grand Jurisdiction of Washington, or to the history of Freemasonry in general.
Masonic Items Available for Repurposing
Items that are not historically significant are retained by the Library & Museum with the intent of recycling them into the Masonic community, free of charge. Each object has been reviewed by our Collections Committee before being placed on this list. If your Lodge could use any of these items, please contact chelsea@masonscare.org
