Bequests & Planned Giving
Dear Friends,
If you’re like me, the word “estate” is intimidating—my immediate thought is always, “I don’t have an estate!” I do, though, have people, causes, belongings, and pets that I cherish. When the time comes that I won’t be here to care for them, I want to know that they’re provided for as well as I can manage, and in the way that I see fi t. In other words, I needed to go through estate planning.
With that in mind, we’re pleased to provide you with this estate planning guide to support you with that process. It can be a valuable tool to help you gather information so that you can use your estate plan to both provide for your loved ones and support the causes that you care about. The guide can be completed in two to three hours. Before you get started, you may want to view the information at www.Freewill.com.
When you’re done, you’ll have considered important end-of-life topics like guardianship, medical care, and how you’d like your assets distributed. You’ll be prepared for a comprehensive conversation with an estate planning attorney and/or fi nancial advisor regarding your goals for the future. They’ll use this information in preparing an estate plan to fulfi ll your wishes for your legacy. (We may be able to off er recommendations for these professionals, if you need them.)
At Washington Masonic Services, we’re happy to assist you as you move forward to create a plan for your future and legacy. Please feel free to contact us at info@masonscare.org if we can be of help. We understand this can be a stressful time and wish you well in this process.
Respectfully,
Megan Ferland
